Veneto is the biggest wine-producing area of Italy and makes fantastic reds and white wines. Friuli-Venezia-Giulia to the east produces some of Italy's iconic white wines and has a great gastronomical tradition. Join us in this small-group tour, staying at small countryside residences and tour regions from Amarone to Prosecco to Gorizia.

Day 1 – Sunday, September 19 - 2021

From Verona to wine country

 

We meet in the afternoon in Verona and head for the biodynamic winery resort, Mugella, where we will spend two nights. We’ll have a welcome dinner together enjoying some of the delightful regional foods and wines and have a good night’s rest in the quiet countryside.

Day 2 – Monday, September 20 - 2021

Valpolicella

 

The day is entirely dedicated to the fascinating area of Valpolicella that is famous for making one of Italy's most full-bodied wines, Amarone della Valpolicella. We'll visit several wineries with tours of the vineyards to get to know the local grape varieties and how they are grown. We'll be eating a delicious lunch in a family-owned countryside restaurant, with more wines.

Day 3 – Tuesday, September 21 - 2021

Soave & Maculan

After the morning departure, we visit the Soave region with the famous Pieropan winery. We will learn all about the well-known whites of Italy that eastern Italy is famous for. After lunch Slow Food style, we head further north and visit the Maculan winery that makes one of Italy's best dessert wines.

Before evening we'll reach our panoramic B&B in the hills of Conegliano-Valdobbiadene, the historical heart of Prosecco. Dinner in the village at local trattoria.

Day 4 – Wednesday, September 22 - 2021

Valdobbiadene wine touring

This a beautiful region to be based in and furthermore it makes some delicious wines and great food. We'll spend the day visiting small wineries and also some famous ones to get a full overview of the area and its wine production. We'll taste different styles of Prosecco so you'll know all there is know about Italy's most famous sparkling wine region. 

We'll have a big lunch, so the evening will be free and dinner on your own in the village.

Day 5 – Thursday, September 23 - 2021

Prosciutto di San Daniele & Ramandolo

 

Italy's most renowned Prosciutto comes from San Daniele where we will head for the day. We'll visit a prosciutteria and dine on fine regional foods north of Udine. In the afternoon we head for Ramandolo where the special grape Verduzzo comes from and we enjoy a great winery visit. In the evening we check in to our winery resort, Il Roncal, where we spend the final two nights.

Day 6 – Friday, September 24 - 2021

Gorizia and orange wines

 

Our final day of wine touring is dedicated to this area of Italy on the Slovenian border, famous for its important whites and also their orange wines. We’ll visit two fabulous wineries in the region and enjoy lunch in one of the wineries (actually, on the Slovenian side).

We’ll enjoy a final dinner together celebrating what these regions do so well; food, wine & hospitality.

Day 7 – Saturday, September 25 - 2021

Departure

 

Departure after breakfast (possible drop-off in Udine, Venezia or Florence).

Airport
Nearest bigger airports are Milan, Bergamo or Venice. Great train connections to Verona.

Meeting
In central Verona (to be determined) at 4 pm

Departure
Drop-off at Venice train station or airport where you can continue your travels. It will also be possible to be dropped off in Florence, if you're headed in that direction.
