Grand Wine Tour of Tuscany

- 7 days 

Day 1 – Sunday


We will meet at the Grape Tours office in Florence at around midday, and transfer to the seaside to check into our lodgings. We may stop along the way to have a light lunch and to initiate our talks about the upcoming week, and checking into the lovely hotel where we will spend two nights.

We will check out Bolgheri village before heading to the seaside for a Michelin star experience at La Pineta where we will have an amazing wine tasting dinner.

Day 2 – Monday


After breakfast, we will visit two important wineries of Bolgheri, and we'll enjoy lunch in the countryside. In the late afternoon, we can visit the village Castagneto Carducci, or perhaps opt for a stroll by the beach. Dinner will be picnic style at our lodgings, so very relaxing and with some good wines of the region.

Day 3 – Tuesday


We check out and head to the region of Carmignano where we will the Capezzana winery with a cooking class and winery tour. We'll learn some secrets about the Tuscan cuisine, plus explore the old cellars and olive oil mill.

Onwards we'll go to a location close to San Gimignano where we will reside for 2 nights. Dinner will be at 2-star Michelin Arnolfo in Colle di Val d'Elsa.


Day 4 – Wednesday


We check out and transfer towards San Gimignano. We'll be touring 2 white wine wineries of San Gimignano today and tour the medieval village so famous for its medieval towers and beautiful vistas. Lunch will be on a farm or at a winery.

The village we'll be staying in offers plenty of eateries and enjoyable walks. On the first night we will dine together, the second you will be on your own (with lots of options)

Day 5 – Thursday


We will visit 2 wineries in Southern Chianti Classico and have lunch at famous butcher Dario Cecchini, dedicating time to stop in Castellina in Chianti and then onwards to Radda in Chianti where we will reside for the evening. We'll do a very light dinner this evening, as we'll probably be too full and happy to do anything too fancy.

Day 6 – Friday


We transfer to Montepulciano where we a lovely winery and have lunch. Montepulciano itself is worth a visit, so we'll have time to explore it in the afternoon and perhaps visit some of the underground ancient cellars. We will overnight in Pienza, a lovely village famous for cheese and right in between Montepulciano and Montalcino. Dinner in a local trattoria in Pienza.

Day 7 – Saturday


We finish our weeklong tour in Montalcino, and very much because it's the cherry on the cake! We'll visit two great wineries and have a delicious lunch. We'll stop in Montalcino before we head towards Siena where we will check in to our hotel. We will have a lovely farewell dinner in Siena with great wines to pair.


Day 8 – Sunday


​The week is over and after breakfast, we will drive back to Florence where you can continue your stay or travel onwards or back home (estimated time of arrival in Florence at noon).

This trip includes:

Transportation throughout the week.

Accommodation in 4-star hotels or equivalent.

Winery visits & tastings, group activities, guided visits and tickets

All meals mentioned in great local restaurants or farms (standard wine included).

Grape Tours personally (Rebecca - Italian Wine Scholar) accompany the group throughout the week and we will have local guides meet us where necessary.


Cost per person (based on double room occupancy): 4000 euro / for a group of 8 people

(single occupancy 4500 euro/p.p.) / for a group of 8 people

NB. the prices above are calculated on a group of 8. If the group consists of more or less the prices must be revised accordingly.

Not included:

Airfare to and from Florence, meals not specified in the itinerary. The itinerary can be adapted to your group's necessities, so send us a request with your budget and possibly we'll adapt the trip to that.

Best months to consider for this tour are April, May, June, September, October. March and November would also be really nice - 10% discount for bookings in these months.
